The fate of Jews at Banu Qurayza
Sayed Ammar Nakshawani
28 May 2013 - 02:34

Below is the transcrption of the speech by Sheikh Sayed Ammar Nakshawani about the story of the alleged massacre of Jews from Banu Qurayza

There are many events in the life of prophet Muhammed, which we may find it difficult to digest in the context of pluralism. The alleged massacre of Jews of Banu Quraiza has been advertised as the example of Islamic intolerance. If one does not put the event in perspective, one might fall in either of two pits:brazen admission of a jihadist virulent Islam, or blindly tagging the faith with violence. Apology is hardly a solution;but...

The Medina Charter
Drafted by Prophet Muhammad
27 May 2013 - 23:40

Drafted, according to Montgomery Watt, in 622 C.E.shortly after the hijra, The Medina Charter, aslo called the Constitution of Madina, was amended at a later date specifically after the battle of Badr (AH [anno hijra] 2, = AD 624). It constituted a formal agreement between Prophet Muhammad and all of the significant tribes and families of Yathrib (later known as Medina), including Muslims, Jews, Christians and pagans. This constitution formed the basis of the first Islamic state.

One of the most startling insights of our times is that communication is environment and that cultural change closely follows the march of information technology. Parvez Manzoor examines recent socio-philosophic thought that probes the dialectics of media communication and cultural environment.

I am in the position of Louis Pasteur telling doctors that the greatest enemy was quite invisible, and quite unrecognised by them. Our conventional response to all media, namely that it is how they are used that counts,...

5 Mar 2013 - 22:35

If he weren't standing lonely vigil on the mountain, you might say that there was no sign of anything unusual about him. The earliest sources describe him with infuriating vagueness for those of us who need images. "He was neither tall nor short," they say. "Neither dark nor fair." "Neither thin nor stout." But here and there, specific details slip through, and when they do, they are surprising. Surely a man spending night after night in solitary meditation would be a gaunt, ascetic figure, yet far from being pale and wan, he had round, rosy cheeks and a...

The Prophet's Death

More beautiful than all the periods of his life, was his death. We have been in the habit of considering death always as an uproarious affair. To borrow movie jargon, we appreciate action, battle and its clamor, scenes which have conflicts, panoramic backgrounds, hubbubs and in the words of actors, full of suspense and adventure. But we cannot feel and comprehend a peaceful death with all its tragic profundity, greatness, beauty and lesson. It is for this reason that we still are not totally aware of the dimensions of the Prophet's death...
